Arriving by car

Traveling by car is very flexible, as you are mobile at all times, even on vacation.

The most popular access routes from Germany are:

  • by car to Travemünde: then take the car ferry to Sweden (Trelleborg or Malmö).
  • by car to Rostock or Sassnitz: then take the car ferry directly to Sweden (Trelleborg or Ystad).
  • by car to Puttgarden or Rostock: take the car ferry to Denmark (Rödby or Gedser) and then drive towards Copenhagen by car and from there cross the Öresund Bridge to Sweden (Malmö).
  • by car overland from Germany through Denmark to the Öresund Bridge in Sweden (Malmö).

For more information about the ferries, please click on ‘Ferry‘ above.

If you have arrived in Sweden by car, it is another 1 hour drive from Malmö or Trelleborg to the holiday home. It takes about 45 minutes from Ystad.
If you prefer to take the ferry between Puttgarden and Rödby or Rostock and Gedser, then the journey through Denmark from the port in Rödby to Malmö (Sweden) over the Öresund Bridge takes about 1.5 to 2 hours – please keep to the speed limits there Violations are very expensive, this applies to Sweden and Denmark.
ALWAYS drive with the lights on in Sweden and Denmark.

For the Öresund Bridge we can offer a contingent of cheaper tickets every year – just ask if you are interested.
